Last Friday night GamedayRecruits.com traveled to Guntersville High School(AL) to watch the Wildcats take on North Jackson(AL) in a class 4A showdown. This game was intense from the get go with a playoff like atmosphere.
Things where looking good for Guntersville in the 3rd quarter when Quarterback Chris Daniel connected with all-purpose back Corey Cahill for a 40 yard touchdown strike with 7:08 remaining in the 3rd to take a 13-7 lead, but the extra point attempt was no good and this would come back to haunt the Wildcats. North Jackson's A.J. Matthews used all of his 5'10 236 pound frame to pound his way into the endzone with 3:08 remaining in the game, extra point was good and North Jackson took the 14-13 lead and that's where it stayed. Guntersville did put a drive together late but a Chris Daniel pass was deflected and intercepted by North Jackson ending the Wildcats chances. Oh and by the way, if you ever attend a Guntersville High School football game you have to try the "chicken on a stick" it's do die for!
